We have big news! Just like the learning communities we support, Harmony SEL continues to grow and develop. Driven by the latest research in SEL education and child development, we are updating Harmony with additional games and storybooks and an all-new unit structure. These units build on one another to create a comprehensive SEL program centered on building relationships and creating inclusive environments where all students feel valued and heard and develop a sense of agency within their educational experience:

- Supporting our community
The upcoming changes will be available in fall 2021 and reflect the latest updates by the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) regarding systemic SEL and SEL in the service of equity and excellence. These updates will support the evolving needs of today’s learners, educators, and families.
At Harmony, we take CASEL’s updated definition to heart and align with an SEL mission that strives to be asset-based and co-creates learning environments where all students feel heard, valued and affirmed, and develop a sense of belonging and community. That is why a new unit structure based on equity-driven outcomes is central to the next chapter in Harmony development.
Since its inception in 2008, Harmony has undergone rigorous research and iteration as we respond to new challenges and opportunities. In the past two years, Harmony transitioned to the Online Learning Portal to provide no-cost, printer-friendly lessons, activities, and teaching tools entirely online. The COVID-19 pandemic pushed us further to develop Harmony at Home and the Distance Learning Guide for families and schools navigating a virtual landscape.
We will continue to support these urgent and long-term needs with a program that empowers the voices of students and teachers, equips educators and caregivers with culturally responsive practices, and supports social and emotional development and academic success with safe, inclusive learning environments.
